A Brief History
Robert W. Sadler launched
Sadler & Company Insurance Brokerage
in the early 1950s. Originally a State Farm Captured
Agent, Bob opened his independent insurance brokerage
in San Francisco’s Richmond District.
In 1988, the office moved
across Golden Gate Park to the inner Sunset District.
Since February 1994, the Agency has been located at
870 College Avenue in Kentfield, California, about
20 minutes north of the Golden Gate Bridge.
As the Agency grew and
Mrs. Patricia Sadler was about to give birth to her
son Eric, Helen E. Zemansky was hired as an office
manager/broker’s assistant. Helen soon obtained
her insurance license and began producing her own
book of business.
In 1965, Jay A. Zemansky
(Helen’s son) started as a file clerk working
after summer school and continuing part-time in the
Agency throughout his college years He became a full-time
employee in June 1974.
Mr. Sadler passed away
in December 1974. The employees and the Zemansky family
then formed Sadler & Company Insurance Brokers,
Inc. in October 1975, taking ownership of the brokerage
in December 1975.
In August 1976, Linda
A. Holst started working with the Agency as a file
clerk. Today, we’re pleased to note that she’s
the Office Manager and her daughter, Laura Holst,
is the Lead Customer Service Agent.
Colomb Insurance Services
was purchased in 2000. Dianne Chute of that company
has been placing business through the Agency since
the turn of the century.
For over 50 years, the
Agency has kept pace with the evolving needs of the
California insurance environment. We have the ability
to scan and email documents to California businesses
and individual clients within minutes of a request.
Currently, we are in
the process of having all Client information placed
on our digital server so the office staff can access
client information anywhere in the world to assist
them at any time.
(Sidebar
